With great joy and humility, I convey my heartfelt gratitude to all my Oasis Trustee Friends for electing me as the Managing Trustee of OASIS. I am fully aware of the enormous responsibilities and duties that are attached with this position; which I accept with sincere determination and commitment.
Oasis Movement is bubbling today with the freshness of young generation! A beautiful Oasis Valleys is being created by a new team of friends with so much of love and friendship! At this juncture, I think it is time for us to be an important VISIBLE part of the society while we continue our creative work silently! I will attempt to do something towards this end during my tenure.
Thank you all for your immense faith in me. Looking forward to cooperation and blessings from one and all...

With the last phase of construction going ahead to complete Oasis Valleys Institute, Oasis Trust is entering the new era of working for the society. Pace and base of Oasis projects as well as activities have increased in many folds.
It is a right time to change the leadership and hand over 'the ship' to the person who would take Oasis across the larger cross section of society.
On behalf of all trustee friends, I heartily welcome Preeti Nair as the new Managing Trustee. A true soldier of Oasis Army for more than 2 decades, Preeti is a strong administrator, simple & warm hearted colleague and a wonderful human-being.
I wish her all the success in her new endeavours and promise my continual support all the times.

During 1-3 August, Oasis Love Camp, second camp in the series of 3 Oasis Freedom Camps, was organized for the children of Charlie Help Universe Trust, Surat. 23 children participated in the camp which was facilitated by Dr. Ami Desai, Trustee, OASIS. With the help of Debate, Drama, Music, Discussions and Games, children learnt 'What Love is' for the first time in their life. |

Children of Sadvidya Vikas Trust, Surat learnt about the basic ingredients for a successful life - Hard work, Courage, Importance of Goals, Self-confidence, in Oasis Life camp organized at Oasis Valleys during 29-31 August. 29 children participated in the camp which was facilitated by Purvi Naik, Oasis Program Coordinator, Navsari.
Children reflected in unison -
"મહેનત, હિંમત, લક્ષ્ય, આત્મવિશ્વાસ જેવા ગુણો જીવનમાં આગળ આવવા કેટલા ઉપયોગી છે તે શીખ્યા"

ASHA Oasis Launches Workshops for Small Children

300 Volunteers Participated in Series of Training Workshops

Appox. 53% Of Children in India are sexually abused! Against these horrendous crimes, a special workshop of 'Good Touch, Bad Touch' has been launched by ASHA Oasis. Especially designed for children between 6-12 years, it trains them what to do in such situations.
Series of training workshops were organized in August for willing volunteers.

50 ASHA Team-mates & young volunteers participated in the training.
Students of SPJ Women Polytechnic College, Bangalore are willing to volunteer and training was given to some 202 students in August.

Titan Industries Ltd., Bangalore has partnered with ASHA for this program. Two training workshops were done in August - one for volunteers from Bangalore office & one for teachers of Titan school & Hosur plant employees.

ASHA Oasis Ahmedabad Team Progresses Ahead |

ASHA Oasis activities in Ahmedabad were started in 2013 by Dr. Maya Soni. In the first year, single handedly she worked in 4 Govt. schools to reach to 240 students.
This year 7 more volunteers, including some medical professionals joined her and at present they are working with 10 batches of students in 5 Govt. schools.

38 teachers of Gurukul Schools, Pirana, Ahmedabad started their journey with HCJ Movement from this August. First workshop was organized at their premises during 12-14 August which was facilitated by Mehul Panchal, Trustee, OASIS.
Crux of reflections after the workshop:
• આ કાર્યશાળામાં જીવન અંગેના દૃષ્ટિકોણમાં ખૂબ જ હકારાત્મક પરિવર્તન આવ્યું… આ કાર્યશાળાએ મારા હૃદયનાં દ્વાર ખોલ્યા છે અને હું બુદ્ધિ અને હૃદયથી જે-તે વિચારને અમલમાં મૂકવાનું ખૂબ શીખી શક્યો છું… કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ માનસિક, શારીરિક, સામાજિક અને આધ્યાત્મિક રીતે પોતાની જાતને સક્ષમ બનાવી શકે છે તે જાણવા મળ્યું… હું મારા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સારી રીતે સમજી શકીશ અને તેમને મારીને સમજાવવાને બદલે પ્રેમપૂર્વક મારી જે વાત છે તે સમજાવીશ…
• મેહુલભાઈની સૌને શાંતિથી, સ્વસ્થ ચિત્તે અને ધ્યાનથી સાંભળવાની તેમ જ સંતોષકારક અને યોગ્ય જવાબ આપવાની વિશિષ્ટ આવડતથી પ્રભાવિત થયો… કાર્યક્રમનાં સંચાલક ખૂબ જ મિલનસાર સ્વભાવના હતા. તે દરેક પ્રશ્ન શાંતિથી સાંભળતા હતા. તેમણે ક્યાંય પણ ગુસ્સે થતા જોયા નથી. તે પોતે નિયમિત હતા જે ખૂબ જ અગત્યની બાબત હતી. તેમના જીવનમાંથી આ બાબત સૌથી વધારે અસર કરી જાય છે… |

New batch of Navsari teachers consisting of 30 participants had their first workshop during 15-17 August at Navsari Agriculture University. The workshop was facilitated by Snehal Shah, Chief Architect, Oasis Valleys.
Crux of reflections after the workshop:
• ખરેખર અદ્ભુત કાર્યશાળા છે. દરેક વ્યક્તિએ પોતાના જીવનમાં એક વાર આ કાર્યશાળાનો લાભ લેવો જ જોઈએ અને પોતાના જીવનને શ્રેષ્ઠ બનાવવું જોઈએ… ઓએસિસે મને જીવન માટેની નવી દિશા આપી છે. તથા મારું જીવન meaningful બનાવવાની તક મળી છે તે બદલ ખુશ છું… આ વર્કશોપ મારા અંગત જીવનમાં ખૂબ જ ઉપયોગી થશે તેમ જ વ્યવસાયે શિક્ષક હોવાથી બાળકોને ખૂબ જ લાગણી, સ્નેહ આપીને ભણાવીશ…
• સ્નેહલભાઈ અતિ સરળ, મૃદુ અને હસમુખા છે. એમની વાતો કરવાની રીત જ એવી છે કે આપણે આપણી લાગણીઓ પ્રગટ કર્યા વગર રહી જ ના શકીએ. આપણા હૃદયમાં શું ધરબાયેલું છે એ બહાર લાવવામાં સફળ થયા છે. હું માનું છું કે તેઓ શ્રેષ્ઠ ફેસિલિટેટર છે… તેમણે દરેક વસ્તુ ખૂબ સારી રીતે સમજાવી અને અમને બધાને ખૂબ શાંતિથી સાંભળ્યા તથા તેમના વર્તનથી પણ તે જે કહેવા માગે છે તે સમજાવ્યું. |

Second batch of Navsari teachers had their workshop on Marriage during 27-29 July at Gurukul, Supa, Navasari. The workshop was facilitated by Parag Shah, Project Leader, Oasis Valleys.
Crux of reflections after the workshop:
• આ લગ્નસંબંધની કાર્યશાળામાં ત્રણ દિવસમાં લગ્ન શું છે તે ઘણું સારી રીતે સમજ્યા, દૃઢપણે માન્યતાઓ બદલાઈ અને લગ્ન શું છે તે જાણવા મળ્યું. લગ્નની વ્યાખ્યા, તેનો હેતુ, principles તથા Happy અને Healthy મૅરેજ કોને કહેવાય તે પણ જાણવા મળ્યું… મનોવલણ બદલવાની ઉત્તમ તક મળી. લગ્નસંબંધી ગહન ચર્ચા થઈ. આ ચર્ચા અમારા લગ્નજીવનને Healthy બનાવશે…
• Paragbhai explained all the points very beautifully that we could compare the situations with our own life and could try to find the solutions… આ સમગ્ર વાતાવરણ પૂરું પાડવામાં પરાગભાઈએ જે જહેમત ઉઠાવી, પોતાના લગ્નજીવન વિશેના ઉદાહરણો દ્વારા અમારી ગેરસમજો દૂર કરવામાં મદદ કરી, તેમાં તેમણે એક ઉત્તમ ફેસિલિટેટરનું ઉદાહરણ પૂરું પાડ્યું… |

'સ્નેહ, સારવાર અને ચમત્કાર' - a translation of english bestseller, 'Love, Medicine and Miracles' by Dr. Bernie S. Siegel - was launched by Oasis Publication on 29th August, at Vadodara.
Some 50 leading citizen & doctors attended the program. Dr. Kiran Singhlot (University Health Center & Marg Counselling Center, Vadodara), Dr. Rajiv Joshi (Amruta Hospital, Vadodara) & Dr. Dilip Desai (Sewa Rural Trust, Jhagadia) launched the book. Dr. Amrut Patel (M.S., Suptd. Bardoli Satyagrah Hospital, Bardoli), translator of the book and avid practitioner of the principles, introduced the book to the audience. |
